HUGE strawberry charm tutorial by Oborochann HUGE strawberry charm tutorial by Oborochann
Yup. Theres a LOT of writing coz there were so many things I wanted to explain :B Im really not gonna answer any questions about materials that are pictured in the tutorial. I mean..come on theyre right there lol I hope you guys enjoy it and find it somewhat useful , a lot of the stuff is the same but..yah :3

Oh and check out my other, more basic tutorials

panda

*Edits----------
1.)Ok someone told me I messed up the links to my other tutorials so it should go to the panda one now

2.) I apologize for the " damp paper tower" I meant towel lol XD

3.) You get all this stuff at Michaels or Joanns...Joanns sells Sculpey, glaze and paints a LOT cheaper but they dont have the best selection for other things :/

And I use steel galvanized wire..22 gauge

*EDIT--Omg the people at the Craftzine Magazine ([link]) are so nice, they featured this tutorial too but I cant thank them coz everytime I try to email them it gets sent back to me!
I wish I knew what the problem was but just in case anyone from Craftzine is reading this thank you!!!

Hello! Im new to sculpting, and Im looking for helpful tips, perhaps where I can find materials I need, and so forth.
Is there a certain kind of glaze that you prefer? And what does the glaze do exactly?
Answers would be very helpful thankyou!

i've used sculpy clay before in the past...never painted it though...& sometimes i get annoyed w/ my fingerprints always getting left in the clay...do you have these problems as well?...& do you have any advice on what to do about that?...i was thinking bout using latex gloves...but i hate wearing gloves...also does the paint & glaze usually cover marks like that?

You wait for the paint to dry, or else the paint will mix into the glaze, you don't want that to happen.

Waaa, do you still mix your glaze with water? Your charms always look like if they were made out of glass, I wonder if it's because of that! *o*
So, do you mix Varathanae with water? :>
Thank you! >w<

Do you use just a normal felt-tip pen, or is it permanent or something? x3 When I tried using a felt-tip pen it ran when I added glaze.

I used to use a pen and it was Fine Point system, cant remember the name, it shows the pen I use in my tutorials. But now I just paint them on with a teeny weeny brush :3

Ohh. Sounds like it takes a lot of practise to paint them on with a paintbrush? I'd stuff it up trillions of times xD

I always fail when it comes to glazing-- it NEVER comes out right. So you add water to yours? I actually.. never thought of that. xD;

It's a pencil that is like a pen, like clickable pens, you click it and the graphite comes out. You need to refill them of the graphite, and you usually do that by removing the eraser, or unscrewing the tip. It's basically a plastic pencil that is hollow. And the led comes in different sizes. She uses one that has nothing in it, so it creates a nice circle.
Hope I helped! ^_^

How do you get rid of like little hairs and random junk that gets in the clay while your working with it?
Reply
:iconoborochann:
Oborochann Featured By Owner Feb 20, 2011
omfg thats the BIGGEST. PAIN. Its so annoying, and Im afraid there will always be little dust specks, but for big hairs, you can sand them off if they get really stuck in the paint, or you can pick them out with a pin or something.

I know! I hate it so much! I think I will try those methods. Between dust and finger prints it is enough to drive me insane! Thanks though
